Where will you be working?
Corporate Audit Services (CAS) is ING's internal audit group. Located across the globe, the role of this diverse and international team is to provide an independent assessment of the design and effectiveness of ING's internal controls, with the ultimate aim of helping to mitigate the risks faced by the businesses.

CAS Wholesale Banking has a (global) team of around 108 auditors who are focused on assessing and monitoring risks faced by the ING Wholesale Banking business. Wholesale Banking covers areas like Financial Markets, Structured Finance, Lending, Payments and Real Estate.

What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for conducting / reviewing and coordinating operational audits within the banking business line. This involves the assessment of the administrative organisation and the internal control-measures of the business units, contribution towards the reporting of conclusions and to present improvement suggestions to the ING management, drawing up audit programmes, and preparation and supervision of work planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently coordinates and carries out complicated audits in the area of operational, system and compliance audits, and has a pioneering role. Presents improvement suggestions.
  • Is responsible for the conclusions also for the substantiation thereof, including the risk assessment.
  • Carries out audit activities concerning operational, financial, and compliance audits, according to established audit programmes and working instructions.
  • Determines whether the business unit concerned complies with the laws and rules in force.
  • Assesses the set up, existence and operation of the administrative organisation of the controlled objects, particularly with regard to internal aspects of control.
  • Supports the Audit Manager and in the area of execution, advancement and the qualitatively correct completion of the audit activities carried out.
  • Assesses and formulates proposals concerning additional audit activities, in the event that deficiencies in the administrative organisation are noticed.
  • Cooperates in carrying out special investigations.

What are the required Skills/ Experience?

  • A relevant academic background
  • Relevant experience in operational auditing;
  • Relevant experience in the banking industry;
  • Highly analytical and keen to develop;
  • Excellent communicative skills
  • Flexible attitude and proactive approach;
  • A team player who can also work independently;
  • A coaching and training attitude;
  • Willing to travel.
