For the newly formed unit Human Resources Risk, ING's Corporate Audit Services (CAS) is looking for a Senior Auditor (with development opportunities) to coordinate audits in HR Netherlands.
Audit activities and strategic HR initiatives often implicate areas of improvement that are Human Capital related. However, many times these could be identified and acted upon in a more clear and structured way, such as the identification of underlying Human Capital root causes. The new Human Capital Risk department aims to establish and apply an audit framework for Human Capital related issues throughout the CAS organisation and network.
This innovative initiative is strategic for CAS and contributes to the development of the internal audit function in general.
The new colleague will contribute to the implementation of the framework in CAS. In addition, the new colleague will coordinate and carry out operational, system and compliance audits at Human Resources Netherlands and Group Human Resources, joint audits with CAS business lines and global thematic audits.
What are the objectives?
- Responsible for the planning and execution of audits for Human Resources Netherlands and Group HR with ad hoc audit teams in consultation with the Senior Audit Manager;
- Coordinate and participate in joint audits with CAS business lines and global thematic audits;
- upports the implementation of the HC framework throughout CAS;
- Maintains contacts within HR Netherlands at comparable level;
- Supports the auditors of the control team and discusses the audit conclusions and reports emerging from the activities with the Audit Manager and Senior Auditor.
- Is responsible for effective use of time within the norms thereto applicable; jointly supervises the planning.
- Assesses and formulates proposals regarding additional audit activities if serious deficiencies in the administrative organisation and internal control are established.
- Coordinates audit conclusions with the management of the investigated business unit.
- Makes draft reports and makes concrete recommendations to the management for their own focal area.
- Is responsible for a correct and systematic record of the activities he carries out in accordance with the CAS manual in Auto-Audit and in the hard-copy dossiers. Dossiers should contain evidence to support conclusions.
- Participates in the establishment and update of audit programmes, work-instructions and question lists.
- Makes proposals to his superior regarding improvement suggestions; has a pro-active approach.
- Periodically works under time pressure and is subject to the ING internal code of conduct rules for the position held.
Where will you be working?
Corporate Audit Services (CAS) is the internal audit department of the ING Group. Driven by support from the Executive Board, it is currently going through exciting developments that strive to optimise its role within ING and to make it a leading audit organisation in the industry.
As part of the organisational change of CAS, the following main Risk units are grouped together in one CAS Risk department: Credit Risk, Market Risk, Insurance Risk, Operational Risk and Compliance Risk. In addition, a new Human Capital Risk unit has been added April 1st 2009.The Human Capital Risk Team is planned to grow into a comprehensive expertise team and is based in the Netherlands (Amsterdam).
What are the required Skills/ Experience?
- Education at higher professional / university level
- Several years experience in the auditing
- Notable experience in Human Resources
- Affinity with cultural and behavioural aspects of an organisation
- Highly analytical and keen to develop
- Strong personality with good critical and communicative skills (in English)
- Flexible attitude and proactive approach
- A team player who can also work independently
- Willing to travel.
