The correct choice for motivated graduates.

Interview met Michelle Kopp - Consultant at Avantage Reply

‘Avantage Reply was highly recommended by a friend of mine, especially the Career Accelerator Programme (CAP). What I really like about the programme is the combination of both professional work and profound study (PRM Risk Management Certification‎). However, it can be quite challenging from time to time. No one will tell you it is easy becoming a certified Professional Risk Manager. But it is definitely worth the effort as I need this specific knowledge for my daily work. Therefore my learning curve is very steep, I guess.

The programme started for me at Trinity Hall in Cambridge with an introduction week to risk management and regulatory advisory. One week full of lectures, case studies and group presentations about how we help companies to manage their daily risks. We were associates from all over our 14 offices in Europe and it was surely a good opportunity to expand our network. We frequently meet each other again at new projects, internal trainings or social events. For example during summer there is usually a business trip for all our Avantage offices or in winter we have a big Reply Christmas-party in London. I am already looking forward to it!

A clear bonus point of the CAP is that every associate will be supported by an experienced mentor (Manager) by planning a career path tailored to personal interests and experiences. Sharing knowledge is just highly important within our company not only on a one-to-one basis but also in internal company lectures.

Challenging projects local and overseas, different clients ranging from mid-size to global systemically important banks, working with colleagues from different offices in teams - I am enjoying every part of the programme!

Who should think about joining Avantage Reply?
‘We are looking for highly motivated and talented graduates who are willing to learn and improve continuously. A finance-related university degree in Math, Business Administration, Civil Engineering and Economics is clearly beneficial. A certain flexibility is also important as oversea projects can occur on short notice. Which was the case for me a few weeks ago. At the moment I am supporting two projects, AnaCredit and GDPR, at a bank located in Germany. AnaCredit (analytical credit datasets) will be a new dataset with detailed information on individual bank loans in the euro area. The aim is to achieve a harmonized database that supports decision-making in monetary policy and macroprudential supervision for example. GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) aims to harmonize data privacy laws across Europe to protect and empower all EU citizens' data privacy and to reshape the way organizations across the region approach data privacy.

These projects illustrate why we need people who are able to define the world behind numbers. Avantage Reply is a fast growing company and known for its innovative and pragmatic way in helping firms to deal with complex business and regulatory issues. And as you can see it also provides tons of opportunities for its employees.

See you at the next Reply social event!
