De functie
Working as part of the EMA RDC team, the role of the Head of PMO is to advise on, plan, organize, structure and report on the execution of delivery of IT led projects by project managers.

As a secondary taks, the Head of PMO will execute projects in the role of Senior Project Manager.In this role, the Head of PMO is accountable for ensuring appropriate application of best practice in project management to support the successfully completion of the project within agreed tolerances for scope, quality, time and budget. 

The role holder will need to establish/strengthen key relationships with business, product, regional, functional and supplier leadership. The Head PMO is expected to be recognized as a ‘center of excellence’ lead on matters relating to project execution in the EMA organization.

The role is at Senior Manager level. You will report to the Director EMA RDC Programs and Finance, and will work closely together with various project managers, stakeholders in multiple KPMG Member Firm Offices, and the process and product managers of KPMG International.

Het profiel
Members of the EMA RDC need a core set of competencies enabling them to work effectively with the various ITS and business communities within the regions and the member firms.  Skills such as virtual teaming, customer relationship management and product expertise lay the foundation upon which specialty competencies are built.  Specialty competencies support the coaching, training, measurement, and change management skills that are typically needed in a technology deployment or in the programs following to increase usage.
This position requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of relevant business experience within a professional services and/or relevant industry firm.
  • Excellent knowledge of English language
  • Smart and eager to learn
  • Prior experience in managing project managers and/or team managers
  • Prior experience in team leadership activities including coaching and development of staff
  • Prior experience in managing and developing a department
  • Prior experience with managing budgets
  • Strong verbal and written communications, collaboration, communication and influencing skills.
  • Very experienced in managing IT programs and projects with involvement of multiple parties inside and outside the organization
  • Very experienced in running projects in political challenging organizations, dealing with stakeholders from various parties that report each into their own management
  • Certification on Prince 2 Practicioner and/or PMP
  • Ability to agree on the content and commercial conditions regarding project engagements with internal clients in KPMG
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization (from junior staff to senior executives).
  • Ability to work effectively with diversely skilled and distributed international and multi-culture teams, including third party (supplier) resources.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Available to travel (internationally and nationally) with reasonable notice.
  • To be a team player
  • Attention to detail and pride in well-presented and accurate work
  • Available to work flexible and extended hours - willing to put in extra time and effort, when necessary, sometimes without warning as necessary to effectively work with teams in multiple time zones.
